Hi it’s Anna – just wanted to say thanks for all the help with my exams and the sessions were so much fun – I love being challenged and inspired by maths and you really made them fun and exciting! I got an A in my add maths (95 out of 100 with an A needing 72) and am so happy although I want to know those 5 marks to fix them as the questions were so fun – I am a perfectionist! “I started working with Paul during the second term of Year 12 when I was learning FP1 and S1. He helped me grasp the concepts of the module very and his knowledge in matrices particularly helped as it was a very abstract concept that had just been introduced. The further A2 pure and mechanics math modules require lots of tough and tedious algebra as well as understanding and applying dificult concepts to solve problems and Paul has repeatedly shown his mathematical ability in those modules. He steps in when I get stuck using a methodical problem solving approach to solve the problem. He considers multiple approaches to a question, shows great tenacity and clearly explains his method while doing so. Lessons are more like a productive bilateral discussion and he always dives deep into the topic to answer my questions. He also helped me in preparation for the exams, coming prepared with past papers, helping me with the last crucial pockets of FP3 and M4 that I haven’t fully gotten yet. I am very grateful to have been able to work with Paul. His lessons have been both fun and very productive and he has played an important role in my academic career.”

Paul Newton is very knowledgeable in his subject area and is very thorough when explaining mathematical concepts. He excels at teaching various techniques that will most benefit your learning style and will keep a track of your progress throughout the year improving on the areas of the subject you are not as confident in. Paul Newton approaches every lesson from the student’s angle. He will resolve any problems from the beginning clearing out any gaps you may have had prior to the lesson. I have found Paul Newton to be invaluable and dedicated to see me succeed.

Paul was my maths tutor throughout my A levels and it’s safe to say that without him I’d be completely lost!! He is very organised, patient and kind which are qualities that I think are vital in order to help someone love and work hard at a subject. His passion for maths helps motivate his students to problem solve efficiently, and helps develop a great understanding of the fundamentals of maths. It is my pleasure to recommend Paul Newton as a private tutor for A level mathematics. I have worked with him for just over 5 months and have found him to be extremely
professional yet enjoyable to work with. Paul has the ability to quickly determine topics and areas of difficulty the student is having, and can therefore focus on them using creative approaches. I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Mr Paul Newton. Mr Newton tutored my son for the IGCSE Maths Subject from almost a year from 2015. He visited the house regularly to provide tutoring lessons and helped my son regain his confidence in the subject. It was pleasing to see that Nr Newton was able to spot much of my son’s natural ability in Maths and helped him bring it to the fore.

Mr Newton introduced mathematical methods to tackle complex Maths questions. These methods would prove a more efficient way of working and obtaining a correct result. He also helped him get ahead in topics. Mr Newton had a very flexible approach, he adjusted his teaching schedule to take account of any Maths tests. He also provided him with extra work to prepare my son for his tests and this was usually during Mr Newton’s personal time, this was done via emails.

Mr Newton had a very efficient manner of working. At the end of every tutoring lesson he would give me a breakdown of the work he had covered with my son for that lesson. This was very helpful as it gave me an insight of the progress my son was making. He was a great listener and always provided positive feedback. Mr Newton had a natural ability to work with my teenage son which made my son look forward to his lesson and feel at ease. My son was happy being tutored by him.

My son has just turned 15 years of age and has sat his IGCSE Maths Exam a year earlier. The tutoring lessons not only enabled him to sit his exam early but boosted his confidence in the subject.
